Honey and mead held deep significance for the ancient Celts, woven into both their daily lives and their visions of the Afterlife. In the Celtic Otherworld—whether known as Avalon, Tír na nÓg, or another sacred name—rivers of mead were said to flow through its abundant, eternal realms. Manannan mac Lir, one of the later chiefs of the Irish gods, ruled over a land where streams poured forth honey and mead, a symbol of divine nourishment and endless prosperity.

Why Mead?

Mead, an ancient honey wine, was used throughout the ancient world for healing, ceremony, and celebration. This sacred elixir is woven into the very tapestry of mythology, spirituality, and our connection to the natural world. Eventually, for economic and other reasons, it’s use passed into myth and legend. In modern times, epic heroes have heard the call to bring this ancient majikal drink back to life to bring it’s benefits back for both the people and the planet.
